ScanQR Go Privacy Policy
How ScanQR Go processes code content, protects local data, and works with service providers
|
Effective Date |
September 20, 2026 |
This Privacy Policy applies to the ScanQR Go app and its related website. "ScanQR Go," "we," and "us" refer to the developers who publish ScanQR Go through the Apple App Store.
For questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at [email protected].
We process only the information needed to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the QR code features available in ScanQR Go.
Depending on the features you use, ScanQR Go may process:
· Live camera images used to detect and decode QR codes .
· Decoded content contained in a scanned code, such as text, website addresses, Wi-Fi details, email addresses, phone numbers, contact details, SMS content, product identifiers, or other information embedded by the code creator.
· Text and other information you enter when creating a QR code .
· Scan history, generated-code history, favorites, and saved results maintained locally for your convenience.
Camera frames, selected images, decoded results, generated codes, favorites, and history normally remain on your device. We do not automatically upload this content to our servers. Content leaves the App only when you intentionally share it, open it with another service, or use a feature that clearly requires an external destination.
We or our service providers may process limited technical information, including:
· Device type.
· Operating system version.
· Application version.
· Crash reports and diagnostic information.
· App installation or device identifiers.
· Advertising identifiers where permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
Camera: Allows ScanQR Go to display the live camera view, detect supported codes, and show decoded results. Camera scanning cannot be used when camera access is unavailable.
Photos: Allows you to select an image for QR code recognition and, where supported, save a generated code image to your photo library.
ScanQR Go requests permissions only when they are needed for a related feature. If a permission is unavailable, the related feature may not work, while unrelated features can continue to operate where technically possible.
Information processed through ScanQR Go may be used to:
· Detect and decode QR codes through the camera.
· Recognize supported codes in images you select.
· Display decoded text and provide actions appropriate to the result, such as opening a website, copying text, preparing an email or message, or showing contact information.
· Create QR codes s from information you enter.
· Maintain local scan history, generated-code history, saved results.
· Allow you to save, copy, or share scan results and generated code images.
· Maintain application stability and diagnose technical problems.
· Protect the security and reliability of the App and related services.
· Measure App usage and advertising effectiveness.
We do not automatically upload the contents of codes you scan or create. When you choose to open a scanned link, send content, or share a result, the destination you select may receive that information and will process it under its own terms and privacy practices.
ScanQR Go normally detects and decodes codes on your device. Live camera frames are used to perform the scan and are not automatically saved by the App.
Scan results, generated codes, favorites, and related history may be stored locally on your device. Local content remains available until you delete it through available App controls, remove the App, or clear its stored data. Removing local content does not delete a copy that you previously saved, shared, copied, or sent to an external service.
Where supported, local App data is protected by iOS security and file-protection features. You are responsible for controlling access to your device and reviewing content before opening, saving, or sharing it.
Crash reports, diagnostic information, advertising events, and related technical data may be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain the App, investigate technical issues, measure advertising, protect the service, or meet applicable legal requirements.
No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the type of information being processed.
ScanQR Go may work with third-party providers that support functions such as:
· Analytics and crash reporting.
· Advertising delivery and measurement.
· Technical infrastructure, fraud prevention, and security.
These providers may process limited device, diagnostic, usage, or advertising information only as needed to perform their services. We do not provide advertising providers with the text, images, contact details, Wi-Fi details, links, or other content contained in the codes you scan or create for the purpose of selecting advertisements.
Provider handling of information is governed by their privacy policies and contractual obligations. We do not sell the contents of your scans, generated codes, selected images, or local history for monetary compensation. Advertising providers may process device or advertising information as permitted by applicable law and your iOS tracking choices.
ScanQR Go is a general utility and is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so that we can review the request and take appropriate action.
Codes may contain personal, confidential, payment, network, medical, financial, or other sensitive information. Review a code and its destination carefully before opening, saving, copying, or sharing it. Do not create or share sensitive code content unless you have permission and understand how the receiving service will process it.
You control the permissions granted to ScanQR Go. When a required permission is unavailable, the related camera or photo feature may not function, while other features can continue to operate where technically possible.
Where applicable, ScanQR Go will request permission before accessing information used to track activity across other companies' apps or websites. Declining tracking permission may limit personalized advertising but does not necessarily remove all advertisements from the App.
You can review and delete locally stored scan history, generated-code history, favorites, or saved results using the controls available in ScanQR Go. Deleting an item from the App does not automatically remove a copy previously saved to your photo library, copied elsewhere, shared with another person, or sent to an external service.
Privacy rights may vary depending on your location and applicable law. Because most scanned and generated content remains only on your device, we generally cannot access or delete that local content for you.
Where the GDPR applies, you may have the right to:
· Access: Request information about the personal data we process about you.
· Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
· Deletion: Request deletion of eligible personal data.
· Restriction: Ask us to limit certain processing activities.
· Portability: Receive eligible personal data in a structured and commonly used format.
· Objection: Object to certain processing based on legitimate interests.

· Right to Opt Out: Request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information where applicable.

ScanQR Go does not sell the contents of your scans, selected images, generated codes, or local history for monetary compensation.
To submit a privacy request, contact [email protected] and describe the request clearly. We may request limited information to verify the request and identify relevant records. Verification information will be used only to process the privacy request.
We may update this Privacy Policy when ScanQR Go features, service providers, or legal obligations change. When an update is made, the effective date at the beginning of this Policy will be revised. If required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or request consent for material changes.
